A Fleet of Motor Coasters is responsible fo the carriage of all sugar produced at Berbice Sugar Estates during the Spring and Autumn crops, to the Demerara Sugar Terminals Limited in Georgetown.
During off crop seasons, the vessels do tramping activities locally and sometimes inter-regionally. Annual maintenance repairs and dry docking are also carried out during this period.
While our specialty is Coastal and Regional Shipping, the department also provides professional service in the area of ship management, maintenance and repair systems and professional / technical advice in related shipping matters to many entities in Guyana.
